In Which Sandy Teaches Deev a Very Important Lesson

During the blustery weather that heralded Hurricane Sandy's imminent arrival, John & I sawed off a limb that was in danger of taking off siding.  He'd saw, then I would, then back to him, then back to me.

We were buffeted with wind & pelted with rain (would have been so much simpler if I'd only thought of it when the skies were sunny & bright), but at least It was easy going - well, at first. But the deeper the cut, the more difficult it became.

There were times that the brand new Craftsman saw got wedged into the cut.  It became difficult, arduous, frustrating.  Then we realized that the only way we were going to get it DONE was with a light, but persistent, touch.

That's where I am, right now, in my life changes.  Almost there.  Almost. But it seems like its harder than ever to making headway, like I get stuck in places where I can't move.  It's oh so tempting to give into feelings of frustration & "I thought this should have been DONE by now!"

Have to remember - apply a light, persistent touch with the right tool, one cuts clean when properly used.  Keep going until its won & done!

Day 1 - 37 Days of Haiku

There was a reason...

... I didn't think to use this blog for the Serendipity, our joint summer art show in the artist colony of Lambertville, NJ ~ it's perfect for recording all the joy that awaits me as I cultivate my next-step activities, especially around Creativity Out Your Fingertips.

As I peer down the road, unable to see far due to intriguing twists & turns, am reminded of that great poster from many years ago - OPEN  YOUR  MIND  &  SAY  "AWE!"
